Cracker Box Palace is a registered non-profit farm haven in Alton, NY. It is a unique place in Wayne County where farm animals of every kind come to recover from illness, neglect or abuse. Some of our residents come here due to family deaths, or because their owners can no longer give them the care they need.  Once the animals are given necessary adjustment time and veterinary care, they become available for new people to love through adoption or a unique foster care program.   Tours are available by appointment and family events are held through-out the year.

ALASA Academy

ALASA Academy Children’s Day Camps - Our 2011 Day Camps offer truly unique week-long learning experiences for children 6-16. Three sessions are offered (7/11-15, 7/18-22 and 8/1-5). Conducted by caring, certified educational professionals and certified by NY State, our Day Camps provide positive learning experiences children will long remember. Everyone finds a favorite "thing" to enjoy at camp: hiking and camping, kayaking, fishing, trailblazing, shore and creek exploration, orienteering, crafts and animals/plants in nature are carefully integrated with science, math, journaling, personal wellness topics, interpersonal and relationship building skills. All Day Camps include some type of Community Service project.

ALASA Academy Kayak TripThis year we are offering an optional Friday night overnight camping session that provides children (and their parents) with a rustic overnight camping experience. Our Day Camps are conducted in a safe, interactive, natural environment on the shores of Lake Ontario at Beechwood State Park in Sodus, NY. ALASA Academy Fall Camping Weekend – Held September 16-18, 2011 on the shore of Lake Ontario at Beechwood State Park in Sodus, NY, this fundraising event is open to the public. Rustic overnight campsites are available. Trailers and campers are also welcome. Take time to explore the wooded areas, local fossil steams and the shores of Great Sodus Bay. Try kayaking on Maxwell Bay and fishing in the local streams. Hike the many trails throughout the area. Be sure to visit the Sodus Point Lighthouse Museum and Sodus Point Village. Includes a Saturday night chuck wagon dinner, followed by a group campfire complete with karaoke. And the Haunted Orchard Walk is a perfect way to welcome the Fall season.
