September 20th: from 10am till 5pm: Cracker Box Palace Animal Fair. This year we are having Animal Faire to kick off our U-Pick Apple Season!
Games, craft projects, demonstrations, seminars, ‘try it’ projects, information regarding businesses and clubs. In past fairs we’ve had a dump truck with a sand pile for the kids to play on, new cars and tractors contests, raffles, games and give-aways, not for profit groups with dogs, cats, goats, horses and rabbits! We’ve had maple syrup products, ice cream and even a salad truck for scrumptious snacks! That’s what’s so really neat about Animal Faire, is there is such a wide variety of things to do, groups to learn about and fun stuff to try!
These are some of the groups and businesses we’ve had in the past with

It is a fun weekend and all of our animals are in their glory visiting with all the people that come. We offer hay rides, fossil tours, the gift shop will be open, games and of course tours of the barns. We always ask each vendor or booth to have a “kid’s project” to offer the youngsters that are here. We have businesses, craft vendors, wool spinning, and food vendors join us. We encouraged not for profit organizations to bring a donation jar, fundraising sale items, have a game or raffle and bring all their information to pass along to our eager crowds of animal enthusiasts.
We’re hoping to grow Animal Faire 2008 to include even more animal shelters and organizations, bring in groups with seminars and helpful animal information for animals of ALL kinds. We hope to attract more businesses to this year’s event and we advertise the Faire with radio, newspapers, television, and community calendars from Rochester to Syracuse.
Our wish list for new activities and booths – Dog agility, animal trainers, stock trailers, animals clubs, car, tractor or lawnmower clubs, organic farms, vegetarian food booths, vegetable and fruit growers, tack vendors, animal services such as groomers, chiropractors, feed vendors, farm services, musicians, artists, youth groups exotic animals, “working animals” such as police or rescue dogs or horses, guide dogs or mini horses, llamas and alpacas, youth groups that would like to demonstrate their animal expertise, face painters, hot air balloons, clowns or performers…. Let us know what your group could add to our faire!
